Day Three

Yesterday, while we ate at the Golden Flower Restaurant, we had an extremely interesting dinner conversation. At night, I played mah-jong with Katie, Madeline, and Sabrina. That's basically it. Oh yeah, I played table tennis. And I finally went to sleep earlier than 11:30.

Today, we worked more on our wellness plan and practiced calligraphy. I'm quite bad at it, but I hope I'll improve over the course of this trip. Today was actually pretty chill; we got to planned our own lunch hour. KT, Sabrina, Harrison, Noah, and I tried a new restaurant, where we ate slightly spicy noodles in sauce with onion. It was a delicious experience, but the portion wasn't that filling, so I ate bread afterwards. I think being here is definately different from being in class in Shanghai, but in a positive way. We get more freedom, apart from the mandatory times in the schedule when we need to work in our inquiry project, have meetings, etc. The library here isn't as sizable as the one in school, but most of the books are about China, related to Chinese cultures and traditions, or about this area. We can find books about our inquiry projects, or read historical fiction. As well, there's a fitness area, pool table/table tennis table room, TV room, dining hall, and tons of old antiques. The center is intensely cool, the architecture and design... I wanted to upload photos, but that'll have to wait unitl I find a camera connecter.

Hi! My name is Audrey... I'm really excited about Microcampus. I've never been to an area like that, and I'm looking forward to the fresh air and nice weather. I hope to learn how the people there live, as well as exploring the area and comparing it to Shanghai. Hopefully, I'll gain a great experience out of this trip.
