Day Two

Yesterday afternoon, we went to the 'people's square' of Xizhou, which consists of four food vendors, several small restaurants, and a line of shops. Yeah... huge. We ate a local Xizhou pancake thing, which came in two flavors, sweet and saly. The sweet had red bean and rose, the salty has salt, pork and scallion. I also ate noodles, which is the rice cake (nian gao) but in noodle form. We saw a music performance by some Bai musicians. They mainly used stringed instruments, but one of the musicians had a wooden or bamboo flute. One song was accompanied by dancers. For movie night, we watched The Truman Show.

Today, we basically 'adjusted to being in class'. We created a wellness plan, and reviewed what we needed to do for class. My new scedule: Day 1: Math & Science. Day 2: SS & LA.

Hope you feel better soon!

It could be the high altitude and thin air that cost your sore throat, but please sleep earlier tonight since you don't feel too well already.

Enjoy your great classroom there and the warm hostality!

Hi! My name is Audrey... I'm really excited about Microcampus. I've never been to an area like that, and I'm looking forward to the fresh air and nice weather. I hope to learn how the people there live, as well as exploring the area and comparing it to Shanghai. Hopefully, I'll gain a great experience out of this trip.
