Microcampus 2013: Good Luck!

Hi Microcampus Crew!

I wish you all the the best of luck in Xizhou this month! I guess the best advice I can give to you is to try and get out and research your project right away! I really wish I had the opportunity to come back and research more. All of your project ideas sound really interesting, and I'm really proud of everyone! Okay, that sounded cheesy. I really look forward to seeing all of your ideas develop throughout microcampus! If you guys ever have questions, don't hesitate to ask any of us 'alumni'! I know you guys are probably all set to do this, but it doesn't hurt to offer :)

Have a great time in Xizhou!

Love, Madeleine

Big Thanks!

Hey Madeleine,

Big thanks to you for such kind words to the crew . . . it'll be neat for you to watch/read/tune in from someone who was there before. I trust that it will bring back all sorts of memories of the highs and lows from your experience last year.

Good stuff--thanks again for being you!

Hello, I'm Madeleine. I was in the pilot Microcampus program in 2012. In Xizhou, I researched Bai Minority Clothing because of my interest in the patterns and embroidery on Bai clothing. Though a seemingly lackluster topic, I found that my project became less and less about clothing, and more about the preservation of traditions in a village that is becoming more and more exposed to the world outside of the valley. I welcome you to take a look at my project, and see how my ideas and thoughts had developed over the course of a month!
