Day 9: Chill Day

It is Sunday and also the first day of December! We started our day (and new month) by reflecting on our wellness plans that we made before our arrival in XiZhou. Overall, today was a very chill day that included a lot of time to give thought to, and reflect on the past week. In the afternoon, I decided to finally spend some time in the music room playing piano, guitar, and attempting to learn how to play the ukulele. Furthermore, I spent time bonding with some of the other girls learning how to harmonize and play new song guitar chords. It may not be much, but there was a small step and attempt to step outside of my comfort zone in terms of socializing. Another exciting part of my afternoon was buying a new snazzy phone at a local shop nearby. I had to spend several minutes trying to understand how my new phone worked and how to change it into english. It was a great way to practice my reading skills in chinese, and practice texting with a non-touch screen keypad. In the process I also realize how much I take things for granted and that I should focus on the little things more. In conclusion, I have a lot of things to work and improve on and I hope this week will be better than the first.

Hey, my name is Nicole and I am currently 13 years old. I was born in San Francisco, California and my parents are from Taiwan. Throughout my life I have moved 5 times so I am a pretty social butterfly. Leadership and taking risks are things that I feel confident at. Photography, dance, and swimming are my hobbies and passion. I had a very delightful time exploring new cultures on my microcampus experience in XiZhou and will miss it deeply!
