Day 7: Peaceful Terrace Time

After my walk to the guesthouse with Mr. T the other day, I decided to go back there to spend my 30 minutes of terrace time. Julia came along with me, since we chose to go after our little adventure down to the local market. As we entered the guest house, Mr. Yin kindly allowed us to walk up to the rooftop to rest. When we reached the top, we were breathless from the amazing view. There we were able to see almost all of XiZhou, as far off as the mountains to the west (covered in wind turbines). We sat there staring off into the distance and admired the quiet surroundings, something that happens very rarely back in Shanghai. Off in the distance, we could see large parts of the mountain being shaded by the clouds floating past slowly. Another great part of our terrace location was that I could study the solar panel that was there as well. Especially after all of the useful information that I learned after my visit to Mr. Tuan's house earlier this afternoon. Before we left, Julia and I just had to take a few pictures of the setting sun in the distance. It was a perfect way to end the afternoon after a long day, starting with an early morning run at 6:00 AM. Now I can add another location for places to spend terrace time, which the guesthouse rooftop is definitely number one so far.

Hey, my name is Nicole and I am currently 13 years old. I was born in San Francisco, California and my parents are from Taiwan. Throughout my life I have moved 5 times so I am a pretty social butterfly. Leadership and taking risks are things that I feel confident at. Photography, dance, and swimming are my hobbies and passion. I had a very delightful time exploring new cultures on my microcampus experience in XiZhou and will miss it deeply!
