Day 15: Reaching the Top

To start off, the second day of the hike was supposed to be the hardest apparently. However, in my opinion I felt that it was actually the easiest and most fun because there was more scenery and less pavement to walk on. While we were walking, some of us made the connection of the scenery from our hike, to the one in the movie Twilight. It was so beautiful that even my fear of heights did not stop me from reaching the top. Unfortunately, due to our slower pace, we were not able to make it to our goal of 3,232 meters. Besides that, while we were on the top of the mountain having terrace time, a few of us decided to climb a litle more to see what the view was like from higher up. I felt like I was at the top of the world, but still a little disappointed for not being able to continue up. Also, it was much easier to climb since we did not have to haul our giant hiking backpacks up. Going down was a ton of fun as well, since it reminded me of my upcoming skiing trip that I will be taking after microcampus ends. I plan on sleeping in tomorrow since it is a sunday and we will soon be back at YZR.

Hey, my name is Nicole and I am currently 13 years old. I was born in San Francisco, California and my parents are from Taiwan. Throughout my life I have moved 5 times so I am a pretty social butterfly. Leadership and taking risks are things that I feel confident at. Photography, dance, and swimming are my hobbies and passion. I had a very delightful time exploring new cultures on my microcampus experience in XiZhou and will miss it deeply!
