Day 13: Skype Call with the Counselor

After lunch today, Julia and I went up to the star terrace and got ready for our call with Mr. Everett, counselor for the middle school red team. Since it was very sunny, we had to position the chairs as well as my laptop in order to see clearly without having to squint. During the call, we talked about our goals for the trip, and ways we would strive to accomplish them. We also talked about a possible stress factor that could cause us a bit of discomfort during the microcampus trip. It was good to skype call with a partner, because that way we were able to elaborate on things and make the skype call more relaxed. Furthermore, we spent some time talking about the upcoming hiking trip that will be taking place tomorrow after breakfast and continued until Sunday. Under the shout-outs, past microcampus alumnus having been posting advice on what to bring on the trip. As well has how to motivate ourselves by overcoming the mental challenges, instead of the physical challenges that some people may be more afraid of. Also, this morning Kchen and I offered to be the 2 volunteers to wear heart rate monitors during the hike. That way everyone in the extreme team can get credit for 30 minutes in zone. Overall I am super excited for the hike tomorrow and I am not scared about any challenges that will come my way because I have friends that will motivate me.

Hey, my name is Nicole and I am currently 13 years old. I was born in San Francisco, California and my parents are from Taiwan. Throughout my life I have moved 5 times so I am a pretty social butterfly. Leadership and taking risks are things that I feel confident at. Photography, dance, and swimming are my hobbies and passion. I had a very delightful time exploring new cultures on my microcampus experience in XiZhou and will miss it deeply!
